Wakandi Uganda Limited, a Norwegian fintech company, recently honored the Association of Microfinance Institutions of Uganda (AMFIU) for its exceptional commitment to promoting financial inclusion in Uganda.

Wakandi Uganda Limited is one of the fintechs that has successfully integrated the Performance Monitoring Tool into its core banking solution. During the handover ceremony, Mr. Paul Mubiru Kiwanuka, Country Director of Wakandi Uganda, emphasized, “Our partnership with AMFIU is essential to our shared mission of fostering a financially inclusive society. Together, we have introduced the Performance Monitoring Tool, a crucial resource that enables microfinance institutions to monitor and enhance their service delivery. This tool optimizes financial services and empowers individuals and communities to achieve financial stability and growth. It has also improved transparency and accountability within microfinance institutions, ensuring they serve their clients effectively and responsibly.”

Through our collaboration, Wakandi has observed AMFIU’s dedication to providing access to quality financial services, particularly for underserved communities and small-scale entrepreneurs.
The Performance Monitoring Tool has played a significant role in:

The handover ceremony was officiated by Hon. Francis Mwebesa, Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, alongside H.E. Tone Tone Tinnes, Ambassador to Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda, and M. Dahl, Director of Innovation Norway, Africa. This event coincided with the official opening of Wakandi Uganda Limited’s offices in Kololo, Kampala, Uganda

Additionally, during the same period AMFIU was also recognized by aBi Finance and Together for Inclusion (TOFI) for the contribution towards green financing programing and disability inclusion.
